I work in Canada, in the steel industry. And one of my fellow employees was threatened by a foreman with physical violence, there were multiple witnesses as well and there was a third part investigation done (still on going) by the Ministry of Labour and a paralegal… and today; August 9th 2023; the plant manager had told said employee who was threatened to and I quote “if you're not happy with how the investigation goes, then feel free to find yourself another job”. The employee feels unsafe and extremely intimidated even scared I might say because the accused keeps starring him down. Keep in mind, the guy who said the threat was not suspended nor disciplined in any form.
How do we handle such a horrible situation. Because whose to say he doesn't threaten someone again or even goes as far as hitting someone? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do?
Extreme to not so extreme, give me some suggestions. Because this foreman needs to go..
