Employer cut my hours so referred me elsewhere, after two weeks of onboarding they offered more money so I gave notice. Instead of matching the offer my employer called them to chase them away.

So I’m casual where I work only weekends, since the new lady started whose work I have to do on the weekend. Nothing important… just quotes for the next week asked for on a Tuesday, I’d see she didn’t respond just shake my head and send the quote only to keep answering emails and see a couple days later they’ve booked through an OTA or even worse, the dates they wanted to stay have come and gone. Payments for upcoming guests that should’ve been taken long ago, as well as DEPARTED guests. As I’m only working weekends since she started and learned our procedures, the managers referred me to work elsewhere but wouldn’t give me a written recommendation until I basically pled. Every single place they referred me to was lackluster, the pay and the building. The only person that was willing to hire me on a permanent basis, pay…

As I’m only working weekends since she started and learned our procedures, the managers referred me to work elsewhere but wouldn’t give me a written recommendation until I basically pled. Every single place they referred me to was lackluster, the pay and the building. The only person that was willing to hire me on a permanent basis, pay me decently and write into the contract that I would be getting a cert IV paid in full after a year of employment, did so because it was his first time having management rights and an employee. Fully expected to start making money over fist in real estate then 4 months later (after probationary period) he asks to half my permanent hours because it didn’t pan out. We meet in the middle until I find something else. Another bloody stupid nice guy move on my part.

Finally first employer refers me somewhere I’d be proud to work, willing to pay more than the second guy. But I make the mistake of being too loyal and tell this man that I won’t leave my fucking CASUAL employer without giving them as much notice as possible. Next thing he’s being ripped a new one for trying to “steal me” away when they need me so desperately. If I’m that essential fucking pay me what he was offering then.

Loyalty gets you nothing but used and shit on.
