I'm so tired of being given books to read before a work retreat or professional development/discussion. It takes the joy out of reading. Also, I'm definitely reading the book during work hours rather than after work. Meanwhile, my employer is getting employee feedback scores saying everyone is burnt out and overworked, but here's something to add to your schedule! Our time would be better spent on more urgent tasks that directly benefit the company, like getting our data clean.
