Employers Just Lie About Everything

I guess I'm just not understanding why when I go through interviews and ask all the right questions regarding benefits and work environment, employers are allowed and rewarded for just completely and outright lying to employees about literally EVERYTHING. I've been lied to about salary, work environment, work responsibilities, everything… However, if an employee lies about their qualifications they can face serious legal consequences. Not saying employees should lie about qualifications but if employers are constantly blatantly lying about everything including work environment, salary, benefits, type of work, etc etc etc — shouldn't they regularly be held accountable? I think employees at the very least should be afforded generous severance pay when catfished by a company since that is outright fraud and messes with folx ability to get new jobs (many employers are disgusted by job hoppers even for legitimate reasons), FMLA accessibility, benefits and wages that were lied about,…

Not saying employees should lie about qualifications but if employers are constantly blatantly lying about everything including work environment, salary, benefits, type of work, etc etc etc — shouldn't they regularly be held accountable? I think employees at the very least should be afforded generous severance pay when catfished by a company since that is outright fraud and messes with folx ability to get new jobs (many employers are disgusted by job hoppers even for legitimate reasons), FMLA accessibility, benefits and wages that were lied about, potential for physical harm due to unknown work expectations, relocation expenses from fraudulent job, etc.
