You can't read my resume, even with plenty of digital tools out there to do just that – I have to re-write it for you.
You can't discern my technical skill set, even when I make a point to methodically list them all out as bullet points in my resume – I have to re-select them all for you and then rate my proficiency in each.
And now you want 500-word essay responses on you why I want the exact job? AND how it aligns with my career? AND what my greatest accomplishment is? AND what my greatest strengths are?
I literally just wrote “happy to answer in a phone interview” because I refuse to debase myself by spending the time to craft quality answers (even for a decent role in my field) because I know I'm just one of hundreds of applicants at the end of the day and regardless of what I do my chances are infinitesimally small. I refuse to reinforce a worldview that demands everything of applicants and nothing of HR departments paid to screen and evaluate candidates.
What an absolute joke. Can't wait to see the role re-posted in a week.
