excused/unexcused absences

so i just got hired at this job a few months ago, and i actually worked for them before for like a year and a half. and before i got the job i said hey just heads up i need these two days off for a wedding. no issue on their end as long as i understood it was unpaid (shitty but whatever) and then after i called out sick once, and then was late once because of a flat tire, i was told i had “4 unexcused absences and the next would be a write up.” so bullshit imo
