Exempt Employee with some first responder duties
Wondering what laws might exist regarding exempt employees with first responder duties.
The job is at a commercial airport where air rescue firefighting and emergency medical responder duties are required during air carrier operations.
If those duties only exist for two hours out of a 10 hour day; can an employee be categorized as exempt.
Furthermore, if overtime only occurs due to first responder obligations… would that complicate matters?
Job duty for exempt employees also include manual labor performance parameters
Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
