Eating lunch today, I was thinking about a trend that's been going on for quite a while now at fast food joints.
If you use a card or NFC, you'll be prompted to enter a tip amount. There's usually presets like 15, 18, 20% or a custom one. I was thinking: Is this just a hustle for the restaurant to get more profit? Do the employees actually see any of these tips? What's the proper etiquette on these tips?
What's been your experience with this and how do you navigate it? Also, if you're on the employee side of things, do you actually see any of these tips?
EDIT: I'm talking about these types of tips. This one is from a Subway
