My assistant manager Jill was on her phone at the register, my coworker Gunther was behind her counting his receipts for a cashout. I asked Jill for a cashout since it's past my clock out time. She takes my receipts and asks me to go check that all the tables are clean, I said okay and go get the required cleaning items. The moment I step into the dining room area it hits me that Gunther was still clocked in just looking at his receipts. Why did Jill ask me to clean tables but not Gunther when he was just standing there? I've seen them hangout a LOT after work but even during work they are very friendly and chatty. There was only 1 table for me to clean and I did it quick and went to the dishwasher area to drop all the dishes. Jill calls me back to the register and says “I called for you, you didn't have to clean those tables” The dining room is super close to the register and I didn't hear anything. I also noticed that Gunther got his cashout and was now gone. Why did she ask me to check tables and not Gunther? Does this sound like favoritism? Should I tell my main manager? I'm I tripping and should I let it go?
