After hundreds of job applications i finally landed an interview with a company and i like what they do! I was so excited and had a great interview so they moved me on to orientation. They stated that orientation will be 3 months after that interview and the proper job start date will be another month after that, but as long as i passed the testing at orientation, i have the job. I was excited to have a job but frustrated it starts such a long time away. I have been jobless since graduating with my bachelors and i manage to scrape together enough to buy flights to orientation. I am so excited! Fast forward to one week before orientation. I get an email saying they are postponing the orientation and job start date by one month, and job start till spring of next year. Im furious, sad, disappointed, and hopeless. I couldn’t afford to buy insurance for the flights to get them rescheduled and now i’m dealing with the consequences. And to clarify, they used to have accommodations for people to fly in no charge to them, but for this season of hiring (after i passed the interview) they said there was a policy change and they no longer help pay for flights. I don’t know what to do anymore. This delay in starting work is messing up not only my plans, but my fiancée, and parents plans since she is moving with me and my parents are moving houses once i leave state. Sorry for ranting but I don’t really have anywhere else to go for this.
