This is your daily inspiration to quit that toxic job that's destroying your mind and body.
A bit off my chest but as the title says, I'm freeeeeeee!! 😀 I've been at this job for a little over 3 years and climbed to the top of the corporate ladder until it basically became a dead-end job. No opportunities for learning new skills, career advancement, growth in any way… complete stagnancy. I was extremely overpaid for doing the bare minimum but it was killing my soul because no, I don't dream of labor but if I'm forced to spend 40h a week of my existence then I better be doing something meaningful. But corporate hell is just that – hell. The last half a year the higher ups started going insane with extreme mincromanagement and aggressive tactics and people are quitting almost every month now, management is panicking.
I sat down my supervisor to inform them I'm putting in my notice and they cried when I told them I found a better job, but then said they understood because they knows this company is a mess.
Called my boss/the ceo to tell him directly and he freaked out, started yapping about how he can't believe I have any reason to leave and he's willing to give me everything to stay… I don't think he understands that the he and company itself is something I don't want to be involved with anymore ':) lol. He started whining how he'll have to find a replacement and someone to pick up my “many tasks” (that I do within 3 hours of my work day) as if I'm not gracefully staying for another month to train a new recruit instead of leaving immediately. He's basically trying to guilt trip me into staying but I firmly told him my decision is final.
Now I'm headed for a gig that's 100% offering everything I want + the free time and flexibility to spend actually living and enjoying my life!!
Quit that awful job!
Protect your peace, your life is valuable!
Take care of your mental and physical health!
Money can be lost and earned, but time wasted at an awful workplace cannot be earned back, don't sacrifice your existence for work, especially for someone else's business.
