My sister just got fired from her job for putting in a 2 weeks notice. The exact same thing happed to me a year ago. This kind of behavior from companies is completely unacceptable and it's becoming wayyyy too common. She put in her 2 weeks because she got a better job and obviously the company decided they don't want to pay her for 2 more weeks and immediately fired her with some bullshit reason about her not meeting goals even though she went above and beyond her goals. This is coming only a month after she was approved to transition to working from home because she was one of the top performers on her team. Complete bullshit reason for firing. At least when it happened to me, my company gave me a severance check and luckily I was able to start my new job right away. But for her, she now has to miss 2 weeks of pay that she needs for rent and beg her new company to let her start earlier than planned. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. We give the company a 2 weeks notice as a COURTESY to THEM, so they that they can have time to find and hire a replacement, and THIS IS HOW WE ARE REWARDED FOR THAT. FUCKING BULLSHIT. How is anyone supposed to get a job when you can't list any of your previous companies on your resume because every time you decide to put in a 2 weeks notice, you get FUCKING FIRED. I'm am never giving an employer a 2 weeks notice ever again, it's just too risky now. Corporate assholes can go fuck themselves
