I realized that my employer of about 6 months was doing a bunch of sketchy shit: illegal employment contracts, job misclassification to avoid paying taxes, underpaying etc.
I’ll also note that it very much seems like purposeful sketchiness and law breaking because they’ve been really avoidant on things to do with pay and job.
I emailed my boss at the end of the day to schedule a few minutes the following day to talk about the pay stubs I had asked for that they never provided and to ask him some questions about pay. Spent the night looking into laws and standards to be prepared going into the conversation.
Went to log into work this morning and my login in was blocked. Got a call the minute work started from said boss telling me I’m being fired. Due to ‘performance issues’.
I’ve never had performance issues, and he couldn’t pinpoint anything spread into tell me. ‘Just overall performance review’ ‘ not a good fit’ blah blah blah. All my reviews and comments from my supervisors were fantastic. I was loved and productive and my supervisor literally told me this month that he was recommending me for a higher ‘trainer’ roll with higher reflected compensation.
Jokes on my boss, I already submitted a report to my ministry of labour and they just fired me without cause, with no notice.
My ministry of labour views without cause no notice terminations quite badly, but they view termination as retaliation as a massive violation and will prosecute and levy additional fines/revoke business licences.
He just made my case better. Ha.
