The first time was in March – I applied at a company my mom worked for, for a work from home position. The reason the offer was rescinded is because I went for the drug screen when my medical card was expired (even though it was less than 4 weeks expired and it still would’ve been in my system… I just didn’t have the money to renew and was trying to wait until I got my first paycheck. But whatever, I understand).
This second time I applied at the company my step dad works for, also a work from home position. Got the job, everything was all good. I had to go through a temp agency – I spoke with them on Monday and was told that everything was approved with my background check and drug screen/medical marijuana info, they were just waiting to hear back about my new start date (my offer letter said I was supposed to start on Monday the 22nd, but I still hadn’t picked up my equipment). Then yesterday I got a call that my onboarding was being cancelled.
I am so beyond frustrated. All my experience is food/customer service and management, and I cannot go back to that. I just cant. I’m so tired of getting so excited and proud of myself just for it to be taken back right away. I’m honestly devastated and I feel like a failure.
I called the temp agency today and they’re going to send my resume to some companies with work from home positions, but they couldn’t tell me if any positions were actually available.
