Forced to do lab work during a job interview legality?

Burner account here but I've got a burning question for y'all who might know anything. The main reason I come to antiwork first with this is that our site director (the person responsible for organizing this interview for the candidate) has been on an absolute tirade of abusing candidates with 4+ hour long interviews for barely above minimum wage type low ranking positions. I could go into more, but this post isn't about that.

If anyone knows anything, please let me know.
