A manager from a previous employer contacted me to have an interview with a lawyer regarding harassment claims from “a person I may have worked with”. I responded asking for information from the manager on who the employee is. They did not give me any more information other than ensuring me “I am not the employee under investigation” (no shit, I’ve been gone nearly 2 years)
I feel like I am being used to do the dirty work of management that always neglected to deal with employee(s). I believe I am being contacted due to an exit interview that fingered an employee for harassing other works multiple times and continues to get away with it.
Do I cooperate with lawyer investigation or leave former company to continue to deal with there own mess they have created? In my own experience I felt management let me down multiple times and also harboured and enabled the harassment by never dealing with these employees for over 20 years. It appears now they are ready to possibly deal with senior employees, which doesn’t reflect well on management.
