I was terminated from a job at the beginning of 2023. It was not a good ending. I have been stuck dealing with ex-boss since then as they have appealed all unemployment granted to me repeatedly so we keep having hearings.
I was terminated for standing up against/not hiding child pedophilia that was occurring around minors (boss wanted to hide it). So it’s been ugly but I knew I did the right thing and have continued to attempt to operate ethically despite how things ended.
I received four packages intended for this place of employment. The employer had 8 months to change the address. We get this shipment every year in August and it’s always gone to my address as we didn’t have a central office and I was the one who handled the packages.
I called shipper and had them picked back up.
They were relabeled and sent to me again.
I was told by the shipping company to throw them away or contact shipper for a return label.
I have no interest in contacting exemployer as they’re in the middle of suing me for defamation (for speaking truth about the pedophile).
I have contacted the original shipper and haven’t heard back.
A current employee contacted me asking for me to meet them to hand off the boxes. I am currently unable to do so (I have had some physical limitations recently that I didn’t have when employed) and, honestly, I don’t want to. And I don’t want to have people showing up at my house right now/don’t want anyone associated from the company on my property.
What am I obligated to do in this scenario?
