FORMER JOB NOT PAYING MY $12K OF EARNED VACATION HOURS AFTER TERMINATION

I lost my job last week-. The details aren’t really important here, but it’s 1 month before my wedding and my soon-to-be wife and I are planning to relocate to North Carolina. We live in Louisiana right now, and the state law requires payment of earned vacation time. Before they cut access to my time card system, I looked at my vacation hours and it stated 200 hours. I have a check stub that says the same. Today HR emailed to inform me that not only are they NOT going to pay, but they stated I used more than 37 hours than I earned and would be withholding that from my next pay check. I was making 100K a year, which means that PTO is worth about $48 an hour, which is $9,615 before taxes + the $2500 normal paycheck from my last 2 weeks worked. All in all, about…

Clearly I’m going to pursue this, but what specific kind of lawyer handles this, and who can I report this to in order to cause a ruckus?
