So I work at a small clothing company – the owner is a straight up narcissist with histrionic personality disorder. I was brought in to do two jobs technically, however I came to realize that one part of the job needed way more attention than the other part. They were being scammed out of a lot of money and the person scamming them, was probably doing illegal shit. My boss and I worked long hours trying to fix it and get everything compliant. We then found out that there were more things that were noncompliant, we attempted to fix those as well. The whole time the owner would say “oh well I didn't know” or “no one told me!” she absolutely refuses to take accountability and people constantly make excuses for her. These guidelines are easily accessible and can be found with a simple Google search.
Anyway I came down with Covid and then caught a rebound case. So I've been home and doing what work I can while feeling like I was hit by a truck (yes I'm vaccinated – it still sucks though). So I was home for almost 2 weeks, but still doing the best I could. I was planning on going back into the office on Monday. Saturday morning I got a message on LinkedIn (it was spam), I logged into LinkedIn and sometimes I like to look at the jobs that are “recommended” for me, and the first job listed. Was my job, but getting paid more than I make. I sent it to my boss in a text asking wtf? No response. I was already kind of looking for a new job, because the owner is unhinged. I am no longer planning on going in on Monday, but should I send an email explaining why I'm quitting? Or just not bother? I also would like to whistle blow on the illegal shit they're doing, just dunno how to go about it? I'm trying not to dox myself so I know this is kinda vague.
