From high-paying career to entry-level job

I'm curious to hear about experiences going from a high-paying career and leaving it (for whatever reason) and going to a completely different job whether it's retail/customer service or an entry level job. How are you doing now? What was the last straw for you in that job for you to leave it all behind? Would love to hear about your experience going this way. My background: I left my PM job almost two years ago, and have been “resting and reflecting” as I'd like to call it. I'm looking to re-enter the work force in retail/customer service/entry level of any sort, for two reasons: (1) the job market is crap right now and (2) I am fearful of reliving the “fast-paced” work culture of specifically tech.
