I have worked for small business my whole life it’s not till I experienced tragedy that I realized that these small businesses make us pay more outta pocket while leveraging community support but when you a member of the “family” need support they will put your right out in the cold.
This week has been the hardest week of my life in just one day I went from home owner to homeless. My house was partially destroyed by a local tragedy I have spent the last week on the phone with insurance company’s and meeting with contractors and while I am one of the lucky ones my employer truly showed there true self’s.
I didn’t asked to be payed wages while I was out that I accepted but telling my clients I’m out sick was crossing a line. My family started me and my family a GoFundMe and when they were asked to share it on there Facebook (the business)they were told that would be inappropriate. Every step they have proven that they don’t care about there employees. Idk tell me if I’m being stupid I don’t know what my next move is with all of this but I know I will be looking for a new job.
