I'll try not to make this too long for yalls sake. I walk into work today, and in our morning meeting my manager tells us that Dec. 26-29th we will be shutting down temporarily due to building maintenance (painting a few lines on the warehouse floor). With that he said we can use PTO to cover the time lost. I don't have any more PTO as I had to use it for appointments and such throughout the year. I asked if we would be getting paid since it's not.our fault that they have to shut down. I told them that losing out on $800 right after christmas and a few days before rent is due, would be extremely hard for alot of us. They already made us increase productivity so much that they cut us from 10 hour days to 8 hour days without warning (so im already making $200 less per week than when i got hired on). I was told that I should've worked more OT during the summer and that it's pretty much not their problem. Fuck me and my family though right? Management sits in comfy offices with new cars, while we work in the cold ass warehouse busting our asses to make their numbers look good. I'm so sick of my coworkers and I getting bent over and fucked by this company. Unfortunately there's no other jobs that pay any better without having degrees and certifications. I thought about trying trade school, but with as little hours as I'm getting now, I can't afford to do anything like that. So I guess, fuck me.
