I obviously can't really post details since I'm technically still an employee. But after a stack rank and shift bid, upper management decided they needed to only keep maybe the top half of the managers. I feel no contempt for my coworkers they kept.
What I have contempt for is upper management trying to be all buddy buddy for the entire week that they knew they were doing this. No friendly “Hey, we may need to cut back on staffing” or “it's probably a good idea for you to gather resources from your coworkers”.
Instead just kicked me out the door without even thanking the three years of love and care I put into the project, the level of responsibility I carried throughout all of it. I wasn't allowed to even say goodbye to my team.
