Background: I've worked at a grocery store for almost two years. It's about half an hour from where I live, but I stayed with my grandparents for my shifts.
I'm finished my first year of culinary school and a really great opportunity came up where I could be at a restaurant in walking distance to my house. I've been planning to leave my job for a while, but with this opportunity I decided to take the leap and hand in my notice. I gave my boss a three week advance so he'd have time to find a replacement.
