this is just a rant cause I’m sick and tired of my job. (I am looking for a new one but wages where I live are horrible.)
told my manager yesterday that i had been running a fever and was trying to find coverage for my shift as a shift lead tonight (10 hour long shift) and asked if [recently hired shift lead with outside experience] would be able to cover for me. My GM essentially said that [new shift lead] isn’t going to be working week days anymore, but I was “free to ask them myself.” (It’s really frustrating because they were hired like two weeks ago to replace someone else who mainly worked weekday nights.)
Knowing our schedule and staffing, there is literally nobody else at my location that I could ask to cover. It would take rearranging the schedule on the GMs part to do that, or even reaching out to other locations to find a cover. All stuff I can’t do.
So now I get to go work all night with a fever, headache, sore throat, congestion, nausea. and feel guilty about possibly infecting my coworkers while I’m there (I will be wearing a mask.)
Anyway I just wanted to rant about this. I know I could have stood up for myself more or done things differently but I can’t afford to lose this job at the moment and don’t wanna get on my managers bad side, so if anyone replies pls don’t be critical. I’m just trying to get by <3
