I am trying to help someone, and have the sinking feeling they are getting screwed.
So in US, if your employer makes to travel to a training class that is only held on the other side of the country, you have to fly. The class is ends on Friday at around noon, and with flights you don't get back home until the next day around 9am.
As I interpret it from the DOL website, if your ab hourly person and your typical work day is 9-5, you are empty handing it home after 5pm on Friday. Am I missing something? At my job you are on the clock door-to-door once you travel home. It seems like employers can seriously abuse the system if they wanted.
