it took a bit but i finally understand that i, an employee, am making a company more money than they're paying me. they send people home a lot because they don't want to pay us. but the thing is, i've been the best worker i could be for weeks now. changed a lot, started becoming the guy at work that helps everybody. i want a raise, so i basically adopted a kitchen lead role, been coming in early and staying later, working extra hard, actually giving a shit about the culinary arts and doing research on my off time to ensure customers have a good experience. but they promoted some 17 year old to kitchen lead because he told them he wants to do more. so due to my fear of rejection, that i got from them because i've asked for a raise before, i haven't talked to them, been hoping a manager would notice my hard work but they usually find something to nitpick just to piss me off. they pay me late, which makes living check to check that much harder. idk i feel i'm in a position to tell them their current kitchen lead sucks and i've been doing all his work, where is my recognition? best example is yesterday, we were scheduled at 4, i came in at 2 he came at 5 smelling like pot and axe body spray, i had everything set up and was still setting up when he came in, grabbed a drink popped a squat and hung out and made more money than me. i've been teaching him too, they didn't tell him what authority he has or what he's supposed to be doing, so he comes to me with questions. why is a minimum wagee training a kitchen lead? gonna have a talk with them today. id quit so fast but i can't till october, and that's if anyone even hires me
