My boss instructed me to push out a timeline for a sequence of briefings to the rest of our team’s staff that we initially agreed on. I posted it in our group chat and received a “thumbs down” emoji from my boss, but no further instructions were given by him. The staff showed up to work today with the intent on briefing at the specified time in our chat. My boss, on the other hand, had it in his mind that we were going to do it 3 hours earlier than what was posted. I then proceeded to follow him into his office to have a closed door discussion about how I’m not proactive enough and need to be better at communicating.
