Got denied a remote day the Friday before Christmas because apparently someone has to be in office even though there’s nothing to do in-person

For some context, I work on a 2 person team with a manager and the only thing we even need to be in-person for is when we have people to talk to in-person. For the holidays, we’re going to pause operations starting on that Friday, so there’s literally no point in me going in and everything I need to do could be done from home. But since my coworker will be off that Friday, I was denied my remote day request because sOmEbOdY neEdS tO bE iN pErSoN “for coverage.” What’s the fucking point? Everybody else will either be on vacation or slacking off if they’re there, and THERE IS LITERALLY NOTHING GOING ON THAT WOULD REQUIRE ME TO BE IN PERSON. I’m not asking for much, we have to drag ourselves into office 5 goddamn days a week every fucking week because we’re “not allowed” to work from home…
