A few months ago I was offered a promotion that I declined, and without my knowledge, my company listed me in that role in the company directories, but did not give me the pay raise that was promised if I accepted. So I went to my new boss on his first day and told him that I was expecting a salary increase and asked him for a whopping two dollars extra since I’m now in a managerial role. They would only give me one dollar extra so I asked for backpay for one month of the time that I have been in this position. Literally just $160 more since my raise is a single dollar. It was a hard no. I am now in my firmly bare minimum era and will be quitting before the new year.
