Has anyone else just quit by not showing up anymore until they got fired?
To be fair, worked for a retail grocery chain that has been egregious with the union busting, so many unfair labor practices, and I just got a new full time job in my field a few months ago. I tried to stick it out and keep both because the extra money was nice, but ultimately got overwhelmed and grew apathetic towards the retail job and just quit showing up, after calling out almost every shift.
Was it shitty? Depends on who you ask. But I kinda feel bad even though they’ve fired so many of my coworkers for stupid things, enabled another coworker sexually harassing other workers, didn’t care that another coworker threatened to fight me outside of work and consistently bullied me (for literally no reason, I barely spoke to her ), among many other horrible things. I think I just feel bad because there were a couple managers that actually looked out for me, so I feel like I “owed” them a proper exit. And I really liked a few of my coworkers. Idk. Let me know your thoughts lol
