My job I just got fired from has a point system. Supposedly you don’t get a verbal warning till 5 points, than a verbal then termination.
I had 4.5 points. I was still in my probation period of 4 months so they decided to fire me. Half of those points were due to an emergency where we had a house fire. I am really upset and I got no warning before being fired…My coworker got a warning for her attendance and am wondering if there’s anything I can do. I contacted HR and loved my job (for the most part). It feels like they are just firing me without just cause. I live in an at will state so I don’t think I can do much and should just file for unemployment..
I asked my boss is there was anything else behind getting fired and she said no. My performance was great and I am pleasant and kind to be around.
