I started a new job, an apprenticeship as a technician. I was doing amazing, did all the work 2x faster than anyone else, had mapped out all thier systems, the workflow, the infrastructure for gods sake. For 4 weeks I kept asking them to give me the logins for the rest of my training. They kept neglecting that, to the point I reminded my line lead and she pulled me aside and questioned whether or not I belong with the company??? I assured her I'd do whatever it takes to keep this job. My last 3 were hell. Anyways my sister then gets admitted to the ICU with a 50/50 chance of living. I spent the weekend at her bed, and come Monday I'm wiped out. Call in sick, yada yada. Keep calling in sick for a week or so before I get a doctor's note sorted on the 5th, was a virus. The GP says it'll be issued on the 18th and backdated. Cool beans :3. So I felt better today, went in, did my morning stuff, still kinda rough. Then I get called into a meeting where they say due to the fact I was absent and didn't phone in AFTER confirming the Doctors note, I'm fired effective immediately. I'm 99% sure they just could not be bothered to try and train me past that first 6 hours in the first week. I was sitting there with nothing to do for days, I was researching the www architecture and mapping it just for something to do. God it's depressing, it took me 3 years to finally get a job in my field of interest, and they cut me loose without any warnings or even a bad word said about me.
