So I just finished up my summer job and am now looking for a new job, but while talking about it my mom told me I have too many demands for jobs. The demands in question are nothing under $20 an hour, seasonal and if its not seasonal then something that has at least medical insurance.
My grandma (who has been retired since 2015 ish) then chimed in saying I sound entitled, to which I said that minimum wage should be $25 an hour nationally at least, I have no problem with wasting their time training me and then quitting if I dont like the job and that if you cant afford to pay well AND treat workers well then you shouldnt be running a buisness.
I have been mostly working in retail for about 3 years with doing summer camps during the summers and want to do a trade but dont have my drivers liscense yet. I guess i made this post because Im just mad I was called entitled for just wanting to be treated decently 'specially since most of my past jobs have only payed between $12 and $16 with no benefits, have been forced to work even while sick and with little breaks.
Before anyone might say anything bc this is reddit and people will shit on anything, obviously I know there are a lot of people stuck in horrible working conditions that have to be there because they have no choice, and at the same time Im still allowed to hate those experiences, not want that again and want working to be better for everyone everywhere
