I work in food service, and our dress code requires black pants, which I thought I was adhering to. I'm color blind, so I struggle to differentiate between shades of colors which doesn't usually cause any issues.
Yesterday our district manager came in and berated me for my pants apparently being too light to be considered black. I tried to explain to him that I'm color blind and have been wearing these pants for weeks and no one mentioned anything to me about them not being appropriate to which he responded “well it's your responsibility to ensure you're wearing the correct uniform.” I reiterated that i physically cannot differentiate certain shades of colors and he just said that that's not an excuse to break rules and walked away.
Wtf?
