Mirco-Managing

I work for a fuel company in west texas. My job is to do maintenance on fuel/lube tanks for rigs, fracs and yards. Our manager is a bit of a weirdo. He’s always gaslighting and starting drama. But its his “right hand” man thats very annoying. I dont know what type of relationship these 2 have but its just odd LMAO. His right hand is always micro managing us even though he’s the same level as us. Whenever theres orders, first our manager tells us, then 5 minutes later his right hand tells us again….and again……and again. Then he’ll tell me how to do my job, “why dont you do this? Or that?” Then he questions me on stuff he knows the answers to. Like if you knew what hell are you asking me for then? I could care less if he “wants to know if I know.” Just yesterday…

Just yesterday we were super busy. Had a 10k gallon tank to service and a couple 500s gallon with pumps. Then he comes and says “oh you need to do these and that right now or else (managers name) will get mad.” Impossible, no way we’re gonna get these tanks done within the last hour of the day. He kept insisting and gaslighting saying they’re for today then switches it up to sunday. Ridiculous.

Ironically, when the right hand went on vacation, everything was super relaxed. It was a paradise. Each delivery driver got their orders, loading up was easy without him sticking out his stupid fingers left or right like if you need a masters to use a forklift. (He’d even confuse himself and guide me wrong anyway) All the jobs got done, no mess ups, nothing. As soon as he gets back people just go like “ah shit, here we go again.” Then when the trucks need service he says “just take it like that.” No brakes, no lights, no grease. Essential for it to function properly.

All in all, the dude sets a bad vibe which causes people to kinda push back, because again who tf are you to tell me something when the manager literally puppets you. And lets just say he is doing it to get promoted, its going to shit, literally. Nobody likes him, he’s rude and he’s already made drivers quit. He thrives because its already a toxic company.
