As the title says, I got laid off Monday. It was basically a call from the VP telling 50 or so of us that “our jobs are gone, Monday is our final day and goodbye.”
Monday: Get laid off. Have a feeling of excitement somewhat, for the next phase of my life.
Tuesday: A little depressed knowing I have to start job searching. Reached out to my network to see what’s out there. The job market is an absolute mess.
Today: I didn’t sleep at all last night. I keep thinking about how companies really don’t care about you. When you get laid off, nobody from the company calls to see how you’re doing. And I worked for a company that’s motto is “we do the right thing” “we put people first.” It’s all bs.
Once you’re laid off, it’s fuck you and good luck. You could be face down in a ditch somewhere and the company that laid you off wouldn’t give af. It makes me weep for humanity.
It just goes to show that these companies don’t give a shit about you. Put in your 40 hours, give them your life and in return they will get rid of your ass and when they do all you are is a poor schmuck that gave up years of your life thinking the people you worked for had your best interest at heart. They don’t.
