Started a new job and I’m paid a daily salary. My first paycheck listed 5 hours for the week and hourly was listed as what my daily pay actually is.
A friend brought up that this could be a tactic to avoid paying out unemployment claims, also made me think there could be other motives (part time = subpar or no benefits?)
There is also no federal withholding listed but there’s a section that reads “IRS” which also confuses me.
I’ve never had a salary job so maybe I’m unfamiliar/ignorant to this but, should I be concerned about this?
