I work as a waitress in a sushi place with the restaurant and sushi bar on the ground floor (so the customers can watch the staff members make sushi) and the back kitchen on the first floor (the place where we cook rice, prepare starters and deserts and clean dishes). That means we have to carry a lot of kitchen stuff (plates, jugs, glass etc) through a very narrow stair to navigate between ground and first floor. That’s honestly very annoying and kinda dangerous because there’s no handle whatsoever and the cooks often spill stuff on the floor (including the stairs). That’s exactly what happened, one of the cooks spilled cooked rice on the stairs : I slipped on the rice (the stairs are white…) and fell while carrying a tray of clean water jugs. They almost all broke into thousands of pieces on the floor and I managed to not fall head first so I’m not too damaged. I started to clean the mess when the chef entered the little room (just next to the customers) and started yelling at me and insulting me. He said I was the « fucking dumbest girl in the entire world » (and other things along the line of me being stupid). Every customers herd it, the restaurant went dead silent and when I got out of the back kitchen stairs, everyone was starting at me with pity. That place is horrible, I hate that job.
