For info, I work at a convenience store in Upstate NY and I received this as a group text with myself, my manager, her assistant manager, and the lot of my fellow employees. Should I be concerned/updating my resume?
Just a heads up, I will do my best to approve all time off requests. However:
1. We are very short staffed at the moment and until we hire more staff for both locations….coverage is VERY LIMITED. I can only work so many open to close shifts a week.
2. Full day off requests may not be possible in some cases but, a morning or evening shift request may be more “doable”.
3. Holiday season is upon us so weekend requests will be even more limited than normal, keep that in mind if asking for multiple weekend shifts off. I may be able to approve some but not all of the same persons multiple weekend shift off requests.
4. I realize we all want to be at all family/friend functions but, it's not always possible working in retail/c-store locations.
5. Most of you get at least one of the same days off every week, please try to schedule appointments, etc….for that week day.
6. And the last thing:
No one is guaranteed holidays off except Store managers and corporate office employees.
