GP announced plans to close a plant in November about two weeks after the community got hit by a major hurricane

So, I do not work at the plant, but I live in the community and have several friends and family that do. Georgia Pacific is one of the biggest, if not biggest employer for our County. We got hit head on by Hurricane Idalia on the 30th of August. Lots of trees down, and a lot of people with either severely damaged or destroyed homes. Today, Georgia Pacific posts a press release that they're closing the plant in November. They said the decision was made prior to Idalia but the post is full of employees who were finding out from Facebook. I know at least one person who lost their home, and their adult child also lost theirs, and now are having to start looking for work on top of everything else. I know that corporations are shitty, and with this being Koch owned it's even more likely to be awful and evil, but damn, this feels almost cartoon villain level of evil.

Not only to shut down so soon after a major disaster and make some of your employees jobless as well as homeless, but to then post the announcement on Facebook so they have to find out on social media or second hand.
