Have you ever gotten a 5 on your review with your manager? Years ago I worked retail and it was clear that “no one ever got a 5” which is usually just defined as “goes above and beyond” in whatever category the topic was in.
I guess it’s suppose to be a tactic to get you to drive for a higher goal, but in actuality it’s just shows me you don’t really manage well when you give me a 4 and I know I’m a 5.
