Healing from a toxic job

I had a toxic job over a year ago, and I lasted maybe 6 months. I was bullied and harassed at that job. I would hear my coworkers making fun of me daily. It was awful, and I would hear things for half of my day. My manager there was crazy he would come up behind me and clap and tell me to hurry up. Or scream at me. The weirdest, he would ask me trivia questions and laugh when I didn't know the answer. I started just crying just in the bathroom or just straight up in front of people. I was throwing up on my way to work. I got a new job very quickly, and my new coworkers, I think, saved my life there. Crazy but everyone was kind and helpful. My managers weren't perfect, but they were decent people. I will always be thankful to those…

I got a new job very quickly, and my new coworkers, I think, saved my life there. Crazy but everyone was kind and helpful. My managers weren't perfect, but they were decent people. I will always be thankful to those coworkers.

When you leave, it's important to realize it wasn't you. You are not a terrible person or worker. All of the problems are on those people. It will take months or maybe even a couple of years to heal from. I had to get therapy after that job. It will take a while at your new job to not feel just horrible anxiety about everything. It took me 3 months before I realized my coworkers were actually genuine nice people not faking it and that they were there to help me. I finally found myself again after a while. Also, if you can afford the time, just take time off and take a month or just heal.
