Hi everyone.
Been dealing with an ongoing health issue since the end of August, where some weeks I’m okay to go into the office & some I’m out (won’t go into specifics). Transparency has been 100% with my supervisor (small team), and I’ve been clear on how it’s affecting me. I’ve also been actively working on working through the situation with doctors.
Fast forward to today, I’m out again. Boss wants me to call. I call, she informs me that she believes I’m “taking advantage of the situation”. I explained to her on Monday that I’ve been tasked with exercising & getting out of the house to keep myself active during this, but she kind of called me out on it during the call without any reason. She also said that I preemptively submitted my time card for the week with all absences (I was at work Monday and Tuesday, gone all last week), even though it was meant for last week. She has access to my time cards so that was confusing. Those were the only points she really brought up other than getting documentation from my doctor, and needing one for each day I’m out moving forward.
I’ve been nothing but transparent with her. I’m not getting paid for missing days, given where I work and how sick days are accumulated. I sent her a message going through the points she made in a non defensive manner, and she said that we’ll discuss it on Monday. I’m a little at a loss at the sudden turnaround, as they’ve been understanding up until this point.
