Heard I was referred to as a “kid” at an adult job.

Quick background – I’ve been working at a sales job for the past 6 months, first job out of college (I’m 23). In my offer, I was promised a guarantee for 3 months, then changed to commission only, but in writiting it said I would be given accounts that would equal to that guarantee. That did not happen for 2 months, so I went to the manager and made my case. He then spoke with the CEO, who said “if it were my kid, I think she should experience a little adversity”. How is my age relevant? How can the CEO think that she has control over any “adversity” I need? They hired me to do a job with a certain pay and that was not happening. Do I have any recourse?
