This is my first post… Not regarding myself, but my other half. A quick overview if y'all will. I, myself, am republican. My woman is democratic; So we each have our own views/values. (Which is perfectly fine.) The reason as to why I'm stating this states is as follows. She supports the LGBTQ community and that's perfectly acceptable. I, myself, never really grew up in this fashion but that's okay. Everything she accepts, I respect. This leads me to her unforeseen work experience that we would like some input on.
She just started a new job a couple months ago and ever since she started, the people she worked with always made derogatory remarks towards the LGBTQ community and I would always get a text from her at work stating these things. I understood that at a professional workplace, co-workers shouldn't be making comments that violated what the work place was about; Not just about feelings/emotions. Recently, she sent an email to HR about the comments that were directed towards her and the LGBTQ community. HR was understanding and told her that they would discuss what has been happening the following Monday. (Today, May 8, 2023.) She went in at the normal time today, worked half a day, and was called into the office; Thinking that this meeting would be about what had been talked about in the email. Her supervisor had told her as soon as she stepped into the room that it's best that they part ways following that email. Nothing was discussed about the email and her time worked was worth nothing. Canned… Just like that. All over an email that HR was supposed to discuss with her about.
I'm not sure where to go about this or what legal actions can be taken. I'm just writing this to hear what anyone else's opinions can be said.
