So I've been offered a new job, it sounds promising and better than my current one. I've been encouraged to leave on good terms from people I've talked to (but burning bridges sounds like fun 🤣). My boss is the reason I'm leaving entirely.
So this is the text I drafted to send to the boss (without burning bridges) and my employment type means I could literally quit the same day I text if I really wanted to.
“Just wanted to let you know that I have been offered another job opportunity elsewhere. I was waiting to hear back from them so I'm sorry for the short notice but I only just found out. I've just felt uncomfortable and I don't want to leave on bad terms so I'm happy to continue working until this (day/date) to finish off the week's roster.”
