Hey guys, a question about some stuff in an Australian workplace

Hi guys, Australian here with a question. I have had a chronic issue with my hips for the last year which has turned out to be piriformis syndrome. I have had multiple injections, doctors appointments etc. to all of which a manager and fellow employees have all had knowledge about. The manager had even worked with me and commented on how some movements must hurt my hips. Just over a week ago I had a scheduled half day taken out of my annual leave which was for a doctors appointment. For reasons, the doctors appointment was cancelled and I had told my manager that my hips were still sore so I was going to continue to take my half day. After I sent him that text, he told me that he had told his superiors and they had requested that I get a cleared to work certificate from a doctor.…

After I sent him that text, he told me that he had told his superiors and they had requested that I get a cleared to work certificate from a doctor.

Later that day, I had received a cleared to work from a gp over the phone however it said I was to be on light duties for a week. My bosses had then told me I need to go back to the doctor for them to explain exactly what light duties are. I rebooked to see another gp in person the following day. This gp did not feel comfortable filling out the form stating what light duties were suitable as he had no knowledge of the injury and hadn’t seen any scans to make a proper recommendation.

My usual doctor who has looked after me is away until the 11th of October and my work isn’t letting me come back without these light duties stated. The week of “light duties” has expired as of today and work is forcing me to use annual or personal leave until I come back.

Is there any way I can get around this at all?

Thanks!
