I'm 16 years old living with my aunt and grandfather. We're a low income family with government assistance (ebt card) and sometimes we can't even afford to buy most of the stuff we need because we're living on a single minimum wage income. Something that has really helped us was my aunt's work friend who gives her leftovers from the hotel they both work at. When we get these leftovers it means we don't have to worry as much about money for food. Today my aunt came in and told me that the owner came in and told the kitchen staff to stop giving out free food to the other employees and that if there are any leftovers that they should just throw them into the trash. I don't really know if this belongs in this subreddit but I really needed to talk about this.
