To make a long story short, I have about a week an a half left at my current job, before I will be working in the same position, under a new company. I'm a maintenance technician for context. My current employer is absolutely awful, and decided not inform us that we would no longer be working here way later than they were supposed to. I already have a job secured at the new management company, and I'm gonna be honest, another 2 weeks here sounds absolutely miserable.
I do however have 5 days of vacation time that I am very sure they will not pay out once I'm not under their payroll, and frankly, I'd very much like to not have to deal with it for the next week.
Is there a way that I can use my vacation time before it dissappears forever? Michigan for legal context.
